My guess is, like me, you’ve never heard of Ting Ang. He was a tradesman from Fuchau, China and became the first person converted and baptized by Methodist missionaries on July 14, 1857. When asked why he would deny his gods he is said to have replied, “These images are not real gods. I have just learned of the true God. He is invisible and not made by human hands.”
